Gray Sponge

Gray sponge was the first-generation sponge developed by Finzer Roller 31 years ago. It was developed to apply solvent stain on smooth, hand scraped, or beveled substrates. With the development of water base stains for environmental reasons, customers needed a different sponge roller with better release properties. This led to the formulation of the red sponge.

Red Sponge

Red sponge dubbed “Floortech” was the second-generation of sponge material, used to apply water base stains evenly on smooth, hand scraped, or beveled substrates. This compound is designed to allow the stain to ride on the surface of the sponge and release on to the surface of the wood. Thickness and porosity of the Red Sponge can be varied to suit your staining requirements.

Blue Sponge

Blue sponge is the latest generation of sponge material developed as a hybrid roller for applying solvent, water based and 100% UV stains. This special compound is designed to allow the stain to penetrate into the sponge before being squeezed onto the surface of the wood product. Thickness and porosity of the Blue Sponge can be varied to suit your staining requirements.
